The location was perfect: a home in Sarrià that seemingly could have it all — but at that moment, what it truly lacked was a soul. We were faced with a new-build property, which came with a few competitive advantages, but personalisation was not one of them. We had 180 square metres of white walls and cables poking out of the ceiling, announcing that they were meant to be lights.

We got to work, first developing the Interior Design Project, which is, of course, far more than making pretty things for people. We began a journey through the daily RITUALS of this lovely family. Each new idea was accompanied by a new layer, a new skin that would give the home this warm atmosphere of serenity and careful detail. The new home was meant to invite calm, yet it had to hold a measure of emotion.

Stone materials predominate in the main living areas, giving the space that essential connection to nature, the source of everything, and where you can create spaces that truly move you. The lighting work, meanwhile, is highly refined, with minimal-light concepts that bring great emotion, comfort and wellbeing to the owners of the home. And this lighting work finds its fullest expression in the fireplace, where the fire itself becomes the element that lights the space through it. The sculptural fireplace works like a great latticework, where the fire and its light, through their chiaroscuro, become almost a tribal call, inviting us to gather around it.

Another of the home’s most iconic spaces is its beautiful terrace, where, alongside a piece of spectacular landscaping, we laid a large-format ceramic floor and installed a pergola that lets us enjoy privacy and the very best of every season of the year.

In short, this was a project of bespoke furniture design and manufacture, made in our own joinery — another of our hallmarks. Add to that the contribution of noble materials, both natural and ceramic, the use of velvets, lacquers and natural veneers, and the implementation of a smart-home system controlling the lighting scenes, all of which make walking through the home a vibrant experience. In short, a true work of craftsmanship, care and personalisation, for the enjoyment of our daily RITUALS.
